90s Music Classic Hip Hop Music RnB Vintage

"Ghetto Supastar (That Is What You Are)" is a song by Pras Michel from The Fugees featuring rapper Ol’ Dirty Bastard and R&B singer Mya.
Released in ’98, this track was produced by fellow Fugee member Wyclef Jean for Pras’ debut solo album Ghetto Supastar and also featured on the soundtrack for the ’98 film Bulworth, starring Warren Beatty and Halle Berry.
The single was a commercial success, peaking at no. 15 for five consecutive weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 and no. 8 on the Billboards Hot R&B/Hip Hop Songs. Globally it peaked at no. 2 in the UK, Sweden and Australia, as well as topping the charts in 8 other countries.
The success of Ghetto Supastar earned a nomination for the Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group in the 1999 Grammy Awards with the single Certified Platinum by the RIAA.
This track definitely brings back some great memories of the 90s music era and deservingly makes it into our old school playlist for this week. We hope you enjoy this one as much as we do!
