“Ante Up” is a song by American hip hop duo M.O.P. released from their 4th studio album Warriorz. M.O.P stands for “Mash Out Posse” and compose of rappers Billy Danze and Lil' Fame, who are known for their aggressive lyrical delivery style and regular collaboration with DJ Premier.
Amongst the group discography, Ante Up is definitely their breakthrough single. Released in 2000, it reached no. 7 on the UK Singles Chart with the remix of the song featuring Busta Rhymes, Remy Martin and Teflon releasing in 2001. The remix version took the song to whole new level, evident through the industry recognition as one of the Greatest Hip Hop Power Anthem to ever be produced.
The popularity of the song led to features in multiple films within years of its release to the likes of You Got Serve, 30 Minutes or Less and Brown Sugar to name a few. It also featured in episodes of popular TV-Series Brooklyn Nine-Nine and The Mindy Project.
Rarely do we come across a track that fuels our energy instantly with high-power beats from the get-go, so we’re thankful the boys at M.O.P was able to deliver this Anthem for us all!
